News 2007 January - March

JANUARY 2007

We travelled to Sweden to collect our new boy Jaffa (CANDYGOLDS DAYDREAMER). We had a lovely time with Margot and enjoyed seeing her dogs again - George (PAPPLEWICK PIGEON POST) has settled in really well and was looking very nice.

Margot had arranged for me to visit Kitty & Peter Sjong at INKIES KENNEL and Marianne & Lars at TOYMAKERS KENNEL. It was lovely to meet them all, and their dogs.

Jaffa is now nicely settled in with the Papplewick Papillons. He has a lovely personality and good looks and we look forward to mating him with some of our girls when he is older.

FEBRUARY 2007

8th February - Latest pictures of PAPPLEWICK PERFECT PITCH (Kaspa) from his owner Ann Stevenson.

  Kaspa has settled in very well with his new kennel mates Oliver & Jay and is enjoying ringcraft classes.

11th Feburary - Jerry was judging papillons at Whitley Bay & District Canine Society Open Show. There was a nice entry of dogs. Best of Breed went to Terry & Nigel Thurman's Lysandra's Ptol Ankh Esh. He later gained Group 3 under Ann Richardson (Belvane Papillons). BOS was Mandy Thornton's Shevid Uptown Girl and Best Puppy was Carol Westwood's Dolcissimo Gangster of Luv at Darleair, who also gained Puppy Group 4. Thank you to all exhibitors for your support.

North East of England Toy Dog Society Open Show - 17th February

Pauline Wilson (Invergarick Papillons) was judging papillons today. Amy was entered in Junior as there was no puppy class and she was awarded 1st place. Remy gained 3rd place in Graduate and Heidi got 1st place in Open.

Heidi was then awarded Best of Breed and Amy was Best Puppy in Breed.

Amy later went on to be awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show by BIS judge Jimmy Simpson (Penang Papillons) - a fantastic day! Thank you to both judges for your awards.

24th February - Kaspa came to visit his brother Bob today. They had great fun racing around in the wind and mud.

MARCH 2007

Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club of Scotland Open Show - 4th March

Amy was entered in Puppy Bitch and gained 2nd place. Remy was in Limit Dog and was awarded 1st place and then Reserve Best Dog. Later he was awarded Reserve Best in Show. We are extremely grateful to the judge, Joan Savage (Abbeyton Papillons), for these awards.

Crufts Championship Show - 10th & 11th March

We had a great weekend at Crufts with our best results yet. Bramble and Amy were attending for the first time and although they did not get placed they showed themselves very well. Remy went one better than last year and was awarded 2nd place in Postgraduate Dog and Heidi gained a very creditable 4th place in a large Postgraduate Bitch class. Thanks go to the judge, David Roe (Sunshoo Papillons), for these awards and thanks also to everyone who has sent messages of congratulation.

13th March - It was at last time to say goodbye to Bob as he went to live with Alexa Wilfling and his new family at Jinka's Papillons in Germany. He slept throughout the flight to Frankfurt and soon settled in with his new papillon friends. Good luck to Alexa - we are sure Bob will be very happy with you.

Northern & Eastern Counties Papillon Club Open Show - 18th March

We had a lovely time at this nice local show, meeting up with all our friends. Jaffa was in the ring first and won 5th place in Junior Dog which was very pleasing as this was only his second UK show. Remy was next in Limit Dog where he gained 2nd place. Amy was entered in Puppy Bitch where she also gained 2nd place. The judge was breed specialist Doug Colyer (Zareba Papillons).

UK Toydog Championship Show - 31st March

Sean Carroll (Denemore/Belliver Kennel, Ireland) was judging bitchs and he place Amy 4th in Puppy Bitch and Lottie 5th in Postgraduate Bitch. This was Lottie's first show back after having her pups so we were very pleased with this result. Dogs were judged by Borghild Moen from Norway. Jaffa was entered in Junior Dog and he was awarded 1st place. Remy gained 2nd place in Postgraduate Dog. A great day all round!!!
