Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club Open Show - 2 March 2008

Remy was awarded 1st place in Limit Dog. He later went on to win Best Dog and his half brother Kaspa was made Reserve Best Dog. Remy was then in the challenge with the Best Bitch and wowed us all by going BEST IN SHOW!!!!

Kaspa's wins today give him the final points required for his Show Certificate of Merit (confirmed by KC 06/03/08). Many congratulations to Ann and Kaspa on this great achievement - all your hard work has really paid off. Kaspa is the first Papplewick dog to achieve the ShCM.

Crufts - 6 March 2008

Today we made out annual trip to Crufts. We took Jaffa, Remy, and Lottie, Ann took Kaspa and Irene had Bobby so Papplewick was well represented. We met up with Margot from Candygolds Papillons who had travelled from Sweden to see "her dogs" at Crufts.

Bobby and Kaspa were both entered in Junior Dog and amazed us all by gaining 1st and 2nd place respectively. Jaffa was next to show and he was in the largest class of the day with 19 dogs present in Graduate Dog....... and he won!!! We were so pleased with these results, especially as it was the first time both Irene and Ann had placed a dog at Crufts. Bobby and Jaffa were then in the challenge for the Dog CC. The judge awarded the CC to a lovely Queen Bless dog from Japan, and then made Irene's year by handing her the Reserve CC for Bobby - she was concentrating so hard on showing Bobby that she didn't realise that she had won at first.

We then had a nice long rest until the Limit Bitch class with Lottie. She showed herself really well and made us proud by also gaining 1st place. It wasn't long to wait till the challenge for the Bitch CC and Lottie was on good form. The judge walked the dogs and then made his decision. He made our day complete by awarding Lottie the Reserve CC; both mother and son taking the Reserve CCs at Crufts - a perfect day indeed. We were so pleased that Margot could be there to watch both Jaffa and Lottie win so well.

Congratulations to all the other winners, especially to Estelle Kirk of Kirkchase Papillons who won a very strong Veteran Bitch class with her beautiful Longcrags Bewitched at Kirkchase (Tiffany). Also, many thanks to our judge Gordon Urquhart (Blackpark Papillons) for a truly wonderful day.
